[Applications are now closed] The 70th Art Exhibition for People Over 10: "The Older You Get, the Younger You Get"
October 2024, 11 | News
We are looking for artworks by people aged 70 and over.
"Drawing a picture"...
This open exhibition began in 2004 with the slogan, "We sought in Okina a world that is not gorgeous but beautiful, not huge but strong, lacking technique but surpassing technique; another kind of art that cannot be reduced to painting methods or theories." Open art exhibitions tend to focus on discovering young artists, but this exhibition aims to introduce the world that can only be depicted by age, and is open to applications from people aged 70 and over. Anyone who has reached the age of 70 can submit work, regardless of experience.
On the other hand, times have changed dramatically in the past 20 years. We believe it is time to reconsider the age setting of 70 years and over and the meaning of this open exhibition. This marks the end of the history of "getting older, getting younger."
The memorable 10th exhibition is"Independent format" in which all submitted works that meet the regulations are exhibited without judgingWe look forward to receiving your enthusiastic and creative works to mark the finale of this open exhibition's 20-year history!
