This exhibition commemorates the 150th anniversary of the birth of Akiyama Hakugan, a calligrapher with ties to Matsumoto who built the foundations of modern Japanese calligraphy. The exhibition focuses on Hakugan's calligraphy, which rests in Matsumoto Plain, and also displays precious documents he brought back from China. This is the first major retrospective to highlight his calligraphy.
