Matsumoto City Museum of Art opened in April 2002, and 4 years have passed since then. In that time, the exhibitions in the Memorial Exhibition Room have been changed about three times a year under various themes, and the total number of exhibitions has reached about 17. While there are many opportunities to see masterpieces, there are also works that have not been exhibited often. ExhibitionsWorks that have never been exhibited, works that were written in their early days, works that are difficult to exhibit frequently due to their shape, etc.

This time, we will be showcasing a series of works that have had limited opportunities to see the light of day until now. We hope you will enjoy these occasional works, ranging from casual and frank works to those written in the transitional period before the artist established his own style.
