Tezuka Osamu's medical manga "Black Jack" first appeared 50 years ago in 1973. The world of "manga" and "anime" that Tezuka Osamu pioneered has now become a major culture respected by people all over the world. "Black Jack" is said to have influenced many medical professionals currently working on the front lines, and the themes and messages contained within it continue to leave a deep impression on people's hearts today.
Black Jack is a brilliant surgeon dressed in black with a scar on his face, and he created Pinoko, a girl who is "18 years old and 0 years old." The story that unfolds with these powerful characters is set in a global setting and is spun from numerous themes, including the lives of humans and other living things and the medical care that saves them, the way people live their lives, and even the fundamental question of "what is the purpose of doctors in the first place?" Through the manga "Black Jack," this exhibition will fully unravel the appeal of this work, from the story behind its creation, to the deep humanism of Tezuka Osamu that is contained in the work itself, to the realistic depiction of medical care that feels novel even now to those of us who have experienced COVID-XNUMX.
This special exhibition is aimed at everyone, from those with a deep knowledge of "Black Jack" to those experiencing it for the first time, and allows everyone to enjoy the charm of "Black Jack" to the fullest.
