The Ikegami Hyakuchikutei Collection is a collection of 201 items, mainly modern literary materials, collected by Matsumoto city writer Ikegami Kisaku over his lifetime. This year, over three sessions, we will be introducing works left to Ikegami Kisaku by poets such as Ito Sachio, Hirafuku Momoho, and others from the "Araragi" period.

This time, we will be looking at Hirafuku Hyakuho. It was his work that first drew Kisaku to painting and inspired him to start collecting.

Hyakusui, a Japanese painter from Akita Prefecture, created works with a unique atmosphere using his keen observation of nature and outstanding technique. He later became active as a poet of the "Araragi" school. Please enjoy his excellent tanka and Japanese paintings.
