Kamijo Shinzan Memorial Gallery
This year marks the 1968th anniversary of the establishment of the Nagano Prefecture song in 50. Eight years after the establishment of the prefecture song, Kamijo Shinzan was asked to write the calligraphy of "Shinano no Kuni" on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the prefecture's establishment, and stone monuments of his work were erected in Nagano City and Matsumoto City.
In commemoration of this, this exhibition will introduce rubbings of Kamijo Shinzan's calligraphy monuments in Nagano Prefecture. Shinzan loved the climate and people of his hometown, Shinshu, and left behind many stone monuments in various places. Please enjoy your journey along the Shinano road through the letters and words that stand out in white on the rubbings.
