Special Exhibition Gallery
But life is beautiful.
We are pleased to present "Lautrec: Elegance of the Master of the Belle Époque, an exhibition of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901), one of the most important French artists of the late 19th century.
The Firos Collection was assembled by Greek couple Belinda and Paul Firos over a period of some 20 years. It is considered one of the largest private collections of Lautrec's graphic works. The collection consists of over 300 works of art, mostly drawings and other works on paper. At this venue, we present some 240 works and objects, from this collection.
Lautrec's drawings comprise the most distinctive feature of the Firos Collection. These include sketches of just a few quick strokes, multiple studies of a single subject, and fully finished works. In addition to Lautrec's iconic posters and prints, this exhibition also presents works and materials that bring us closer to the artist himself, including illustrations for books and magazines, handwritten letters to family and acquaintances, as well as personal photographs.
In closing, we would like to offer our deepest gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Firos and PAN Art Connections who were generous enough to lend us their valuable works, along with all those who sponsored, supported or otherwise assisted with this exhibition.
