Sustainable World ―Two Perspectives: Sato Daishi & Isobe Akiko
September 19(Sat.)-December 7(Sun), 2026
2nd floor special exhibition Room
A photographer with ties to Nagano Prefecture captures the present and a message for the future.
We are now living in an era where we need to re-examine the very definition of what it means to live.
Environmental changes, shifting values, the difficulty of passing on culture, and the small choices we make in our daily lives—each of these things quietly seems to be asking us what kind of impact they will have on the world to come.
This exhibition, "Sustainable World," is an attempt to re-examine the world through the medium of photography, as if listening intently to that question.
Photographer Daishi Sato and photographer Akiko Isobe, both with ties to Nagano Prefecture, face the same world, yet receive glimpses of the future from completely different angles.
Daishi Sato remains committed to on-location photography to capture the raw, unadulterated beauty of Alaska's wilderness. Akiko Isobe, while focusing on people and everyday life, uses her unique sensibility to reveal the values that lie dormant beneath the surface. Though their perspectives differ, both photographers harbor quiet questions directed toward the future.
This exhibition showcases projectors and digital displays from Seiko Epson Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Epson), a world leader in a wide range of expressive fields.PrintingTechnology brings the perspectives of two people to life. Experience the possibilities of richer photographic expression while minimizing environmental impact.

Let's delve deeper into this exhibition!
1 Sustainable World
In this exhibitionSustainable"Sustainability" is like a gentle perspective that cherishes the world we have now and quietly hands it over to the future. Not only changes in the natural environment and social conditions, but also the small choices we make in our daily lives hold a quiet power that connects us to the future. Choosing the best way within our means without overextending ourselves—that accumulation of choices is at the heart of the concept of sustainability.
2. Two Perspectives — A Photographer with Ties to Nagano Prefecture Captures the Present and a Message for the Future
Photographer Daishi Sato captures the changing face of our planet by observing the light of the midnight sun and the pulsating aurora borealis in Alaska. Meanwhile, photographer Akiko Isobe picks up on the subtle nuances hidden in everyday scenes, gently illuminating the memories and values that lie dormant within us.
