He has been involved in many masterpieces as an animation art director and background artist.Yamamoto twenty threeThis exhibition introduces his artistic career spanning 40 years.
Nizo Yamamoto was born in the Goto Islands of Nagasaki Prefecture in 1953. After studying architecture and painting, he began working on background painting for animation, and at the young age of 24, he became the art director for the TV anime "Future Boy Conan" directed by Hayao Miyazaki.SelectedHe later served as art director for films such as "Castle in the Sky," "Grave of the Fireflies," "Princess Mononoke," and "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time."
The realistic background paintings, born from meticulous research, detailed sketches, a rich sense of color, and delicate expression, not only distinguish each animation, but also instantly draw the viewer into its world.
This exhibition will feature approximately 220 pieces, from early works to new works, including background paintings for animation, pre-production sketches, image boards, etc. The latest work depicting the scenery of Matsumoto will also be on display! Enjoy the world of exquisite background paintings by Yamamoto Nizo, a master of Japanese animation.
