Yayoi Kusama "The Visionary Flowers"
The gigantic tulip object "The Visionary Flowers", over 10 meters tall, is the world's largest outdoor sculpture by Yayoi Kusama. It was created to coincide with the opening of the Matsumoto City Museum of Art in 2002.

Entrance hall
The X-shaped staircase and promenade are installed, creating an open-ceiling structure that is filled with light and a sense of openness. A ceramic mural painting titled "Take to the sky" by Honorary Director Takahashi Setsuro (1914-2007) welcomes visitors at the front of the floor.

Museum shop
We sell a wide range of museum goods, including the immensely popular Yayoi Kusama goods, exhibition catalogs, postcards of the collection, and art-related books, and we also offer products to coincide with special exhibitions.

Lecture Room
We hold academic lectures on a variety of themes, lectures related to special exhibitions, etc. The facility can also be used for art-related seminars and meetings.

Civic Gallery A & B
Matsumoto City is a city where lifelong learning is popular. There are a wide variety of activities in the arts and culture fields, including painting, sculpture, crafts, calligraphy, and photography. It is used as a place where anyone can present the results of their learning. It can also be divided into two rooms.

Auditorium
The multipurpose hall is equipped with a large screen and a high-resolution projector, and can be used for lectures as well as exhibition space.

Collection Exhibition Rooms A, B, and C
A featured exhibition by Matsumoto-born world-renowned avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama (born 1929). From works done in her early days in Matsumoto to her recent work in the My Eternal Soul series, this exhibition puts the path of her soul all in one place.

Kamijo Shinzan Memorial Gallery
A collection of calligraphy spanning the life of Matsumoto-born calligrapher Kamijo Shinzan (1907-1997). Gushing ink, pulsating lines, and powerful expressions create an area reverberating with exhilaration that leaves quite an impression.

Tamura Kazuo Memorial Gallery
A collection of paintings created throughout the life of artist Tamura Kazuo (1904-1997), who so dearly loved the mountains and nature of Nagano Prefecture. Expressing the ambience of nature through his unique materials and sense of presence, his landscapes are permeated by a worldview that differs from simple realism.

Ikegami Hyakuchiku-tei Collection
A collection of literary art material gathered by Ikegami Kisaku (pen name Hyakuchiku-tei, 1890-1978) out of his admiration for Masaoka Shiki. Enjoy these pieces that express the enlightened state and the pure, beautiful world of the literati.

Open Gallery
In addition to exhibiting sculptures and other works, this space can be used for multiple purposes, such as for socializing and taking a break.

Art Library
This is a library that mainly collects and displays books related to art (viewing only).
